TEDxWhitehallWomen will take place at 1 More London Place on Saturday 1 December from 12:00-19:00h.  

TEDxWhitehallWomen will explore the transformational journeys of women, and the skills, tools and equipment they use to break through barriers, cross thresholds or bridge the gap between where they were and where they want to be.

Participants will hear from a range of speakers about their personal journeys or various stages in the universal journey through the 'seven ages of woman'. 

The event will share experiences, celebrate achievements, and raise awareness. Participants should come away with ideas, inspiration and connections to help them in their personal and professional lives.

There will be up to 100 places available for delegates. There will be a fee of £47 per person to attend to cover costs.

 

The programme for the day is as follows:

12:00 – 13:00            Registrations, lunch and facilitated networking

13:00 – 13:15            Founder's welcome (Ruth Shaw)

                               Addison Singers (All women jazz choir)       

 

13:15 - 13:30            Warm up exercise (Didi Hopkins)

                                    Chair's Introduction (Hilary Carty)

           

13:30 – 13:45            Opening speaker: Martine Wright, Paralympic athlete, on her personal journey of transformation 

 

13:45 – 15:00            Session I: Transformational journeys – a series of personal journeys and perspectives on the universal journey through the 'seven ages of woman'.

Penny Johnson, Director of the Government Art Collection on the representation of the seven ages of women through works of art in the Collection. 

Jane Cooper, Director of Communications, UNICEF UK, on the loss of childhood and what happens when girls lose out on their childhoods 

Dannyella Glasgow, Kids Company, on the effect of Positive Experiences on adolescents. 

Siobhan Benita, Independent London mayoral candidate, on the leap between Whitehall and Westminster

Katie Hodgson, former Shell GM and now Chair of Cruse Bereavement Care Richmond Branch, on moving from the commercial to the charitable sector, and why she puts passion before planning.

Joyce Cook, Managing Director of the Centre for Access to Football in Europe on the power of inclusion. 

Lynne Franks, business women, author and broadcaster on the return of the wise woman

Hannah Foxley, on a transformational journey of a life-threatening illness.

15:45 -17:15             Livestreamed Session III: IQ & EQ the space between our intellectual and emotional intelligence. Among the speakers will be:

John Gerzema, on the Athena Doctrine — how women (and men who think like them) will rule the future

Sandra Hilton, Sheppard Moscow, on the importance of discovering, connecting with, and living your life purpose. 

Amanda Ursell, Nutritionist, writer and journalist, a bite-sized guide to how great nutrition can help you to be the smartest, brightest and best you can be

Pia Jones, Founder, Silver Owl, on the Heroine’s Journey through transition 

London City Singers, all-female acapella barbershop group will take us on an emotional musical journey.
