This is a half-day (morning) course for parent/carers of young people (age 11 - 18) with additional needs who are experiencing difficulties with their child/young person's sleep.
The course is in Reading but is open to parent/carers in the Berkshire West area (Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire).
Content of the course:
- Understand the importance of sleep for the whole family's health and wellbeing.
- Understand the reasons behind sleep difficulties and why they are more common in children with additional needs.
- Learn new parenting strategies for settling your child to sleep, and staying asleep.
- 1:1 time with a Specialist Sleep Practitioner to write a Sleep Plan for your family
Each course is delivered by two experienced Sleep Practitioners from Parenting Special Children. All our Sleep Practitioners have been trained by the Southampton NHS specialist Sleep Clinic.
The Sleep course will be delivered at the Parenting Special Children Office: The Arcade Building, 11 Glebe Road, Reading. RG2 7AG.
