The next UNISON South West Regional Council meeting is being held as follows:-


DATE AND TIME: 10am to 3pm on Saturday 15 October 2016

VENUE: Somerset County Cricket Grounds, Taunton (see below for venue details)


REGISTRATION

ALL regional council delegates, ex-officios, observers and visitors will be expected to regsiter their attendance and addtional requirements, such as reasonable access, childcare and specific dietary requests. Please note, the registration deadline is noon on Friday 16 September 2016.

FAQs

Why does anyone need to register to attend this meeting?

Registration of your attendance means we can properly set up the conference and meeting rooms and ensure that refreshments and catering is provided for the correct number of attendees. It also means that we can be greener by providing an appropriate amount of documentation on the day.

What if a delegate who has been registered can no longer attend the meeting?

Is it before noon on Friday 16 September 2016?

Yes? In that case, please amend the original registration form. Changes, including the deletion of a delegate, can be done using this online form until the noon on 16 September 2016.

Alternatively, you can wait until noon on Friday 16 September 2016, after which the online change of delegate form will be published. This change of delegate online form can also be used to cancel a delegate, even if a replacement delegate isn't attending.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Public transport - Should you choose to use public transport, the cricket ground is within walking distance of the Taunton train station, and local bus stops and the main bus station. Please see the map link for location of the venue.

Travelling by Car - For those driving, free parking is available on site, but please note, you will need to display a parking voucher when you attend the meeting. Parking vouchers will be sent to all registered delegates, observers and visitors to be printed off and displayed. A small supply will be available on the day at the venue. Taunton also offers two park and ride options.


Is lunch provided?

Yes, lunch will be provided, taking into account dietary requirements, subject to notification in advance of the meeting. However, if details are not submitted by the registration deadline, 16 September, we cannot guarantee that any specific food intolerances or allergies can be catered for.

How do we submit motions, an amendment of a motion or emergency motions?

A separate link/ form will be made available for the submission of motions and emergency motions. Motions should be submitted by no later than one month before Regional Council, in this case Friday 16 September 2016. Amendment of motions or emergency motions are due by 2pm on Friday 14 October 2016.

What do I do if I need childcare, need to bring a facilitator or have access requirements?

Should anyone have any childcare requests, need to bring a facilitator or have access requirements, such as large print, documentation required on a specific coloured paper, please ensure those details are provided when registering your attendance.

When is the agenda issued?

Further details about Regional Council, including the agenda, will be sent to all registered delegates approxiately two weeks ahead of the meeting.

How many delegates can our branch register?

The number of delegates depends on the number of members within your branch. Details can be found when you click on 'register', but it is one delegate per 500 member of part thereof. Delegate have to be full members and the delegation must comply with the principles of proportionality.

What if we need to change a delegate?

Delegates can be removed or amended up until online registration closes. After this date, a change of delegate form will be made available. If the branch are unable to complete this form prior to the deadline, changes can be made in person at the regisration desk. Details will be published on the change of delegate form.
