Event Details

The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses to hear from expert speakers about issues facing the business community following the UK’s historic decision to leave the European Union.

The Bank of England (BOE) and its policy decisions are of paramount importance to the entire process of Government. At this local business forum, Will Holman, the Bank of England’s Deputy Agent for Yorkshire & Humber will set out the BOE’s forecasts for growth and inflation as well as the economic issues arising from departing the EU. Suren Thiru, Head of Economics and Business Finance at the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) will advise on the latest BCC economic forecasts and Brexit projections, and explain how the BCC Research and Policy Team are closely monitoring the progress being made by all branches of Government as the ‘leave’ process unfolds.

The meeting will be chaired by Chamber Director, Gareth Hunt, and following introductions and presentations from Will and Suren the meeting will be opened up for a Q&A Session which will aim to give all present the opportunity to ask questions and engage in constructive discussion.

A light breakfast of coffee and croissants will be served at 8am and the meeting will start at 8.30am and finish at 10am.
