The world's largest business network for people with a passion for rugby launches in South Africa on June 5th in Cape Town. The event is a business networking event where business people with a passion for rugby can help each other in life and in business.
The Rugby Business Network is a not for profit organisation that runs events in 40 cities across the world and has had the top rugby and business people as speakers. What differentiates the Rugby Business Network from other events is that all of the members share the same values and they ask each other 'How can I help you?' as opposed to 'What can you do for me?'
The events are casual and fun but the members are there to help each other. The speakers also talk about both rugby and business. The idea behind the RBN is that when business people benefit from connecting with other rugby people they will be more likely to help the game of rugby in the future.
Former Springbok captains Corne Krige and Bob Skinstad will give a questions and answers session that will recap on their rugby achievements and what they have taken from their rugby lives and applied in their business lives.
Renounded for his aggressive style of play Corne was also an inspirational leader and he captained Western Province, The Stormers and South Africa, ending his career at Northampton Saints in the English Premiership in 2005. He played 39 times for South Africa and captained them 18 times. Corne now runs a successful outdoor advertising company called CK Outdoor and has written an autobiography called 'The Right Place At The Wrong Time'. On the night Corne will discuss his rugby and business careers and the lessions learned in both.
Bob Skinstad captained Western Province (winning 3 Currie Cup titles), The Stomers and South Africa. During his career he played for the Sharks and the Lions (Currie Cup) and the Cats (Super 12) and played for Newport Gwent Dragons in Wales. He won the Tri-Nations and the World Cup and is currently a well recognised face on our televisions as a sports broadcaster with SuperSport. He is an entrepreneur and a Director of ITEC Innovate. Bob is well known for his charity work and has also taken responsibility for launching the Rugby Business Network across South Africa.
This free event is being held at The Toad and Josephine Restaurant on Boundary Road in Newlands, one of Cape Towns top restaurants.
Attendees do not have to pay to attend but must be registered online to be admitted. Attendees simply pay for their own refreshments on the night as they would in any other restaurant or bar. If you are not a business person looking to help other business people with similar rugby values then this event is probably not for you. If you are a positive and helpful and honest business person with a passion for rugby and a willingness to help others then please register and we look forward to seeing you. There are only 60 spaces available for this event and we look forward to seeing you there.
