This will be an evening for business networking, for supporting The Matt Hampson Foundation through our raffle and for listening to some incredible speakers from the world of rugby.
We are very lucky to have arguably the best No8 of all time, the All Blacks legend that is Zinzan Brooke. Zinzan will talk us through his outstanding career winning the Super 12 and becoming a world record try scorer for the All Blacks and kicking a drop goal from 47m in the World Cup. We'll then talk about him moving to the UK, playing in the Premiership, coaching Harlequins and transitioning into life after rugby.
This event will be only two days before the Marriott London 7's and we are delighted to have the man branded as the fastest player in world rugby Carlin Isles. Carlin became a YouTube sensation when he joined the USA Rugby 7's team from playing American Football and being a sprinter in athletics in America where he was in the top 40 sprinters, running the 100m's in 10.13 seconds. That makes him the fastest player on the World 7's circuit. In this Q&A we will learn about how Carlin approached The USA Rugby CEO Nigel Melville and weeks later was playing on the international circuit. We'll learn about how Carlin is finding the transition to rugby and what lies ahead for the most talked about 7's player in world this season.
We are also incredibly lucky to have Chris Cracknell (AKA Crackers) who has played a key role in England's rise to success in the World 7's series over the last few years. In this talk we will get a real insight into what it is like to be a centrally contracted England 7's player, the rise of the 7's game, the 7's in the Olympics in 2016 and the challenges and the highs of living such a lifestyle. We'll also discuss Crackers' plans for life after rugby and the challenges and opportunities for professional players in his position.
