About this event

As part of the Suffolk collaborative response to addressing Criminal Exploitation and County Lines we are working with The Children's Society to provide these awareness sessions to support multi-agency partners.

These sessions are designed to raise general awareness and understanding of The National Referral Mechanism partners working in Suffolk. These sessions are not designed for First Responders. There are alternative dates for First Responders

The National Referral Mechanism (NRM) is the framework through which potential victims of trafficking in the UK are identified, so that they can be supported and protected. It is a particular process to be followed when it is suspected that an adult or a child might be a victim of trafficking.

This session will be delivered by The Children's Society and will cover the following topics :

• Understanding and spotting the signs of child exploitation and trafficking

• Awareness on the benefits of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) for children and young people.

• What to do if you believe you have identified a victim of child trafficking

• Who are First Responders

• How you make a referral to a First Responder in order for a child or young person to be referred into the NRM

• Awareness of the Suffolk NRM Flowchart and additional resources

The workshop will be run on Microsoft Teams and you will be sent a reminder and the link prior to the session.

Please book your ticket to ensure you receive the Microsoft Teams link to join the training.
