Description

We welcome Barbara Joyce from the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) who will attending the Safeguarding Good Practice forum.

She will be speaking about the work of the OPG with the view of helping us to understand:

- The role of the OPG

- What investigatory powers they have

- When we should refer to the OPG

- When the OPG refers to us

- How we work together in safeguarding adults

The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) protects people in England and Wales who may not have the mental capacity to make certain decisions for themselves, such as about their health and finance. They ensure that those authorised to take over of this decision making i.e as Lasting Power of Attorney, are doing so correctly.

We look forward to seeing you there.
