San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Date for the next Thames Valley event – Thursday 11 July, 7.00 at Reading Rugby Club.
Speaker Steve Grainger, the RFU’s Rugby Development Director, talking on
‘Encouraging and supporting business people to bring their business brains into the Rugby Club’
After the success of the last two events, we are looking forward to another insightful presentation and productive networking session. Following on from Phil De Glanville in March and Ash Rowden in May, we are delighted to welcome one of the RFU’s senior executives.
Steve Grainger joined the RFU as Rugby Development Director in June 2011 from his CEO position with the Youth Sport Trust. Grainger’s role has responsibility for all grassroots rugby development, ensuring that the nation’s clubs, colleges, universities and schools have the capacity and capabilities to take advantage of the huge opportunity offered by Rugby World Cup 2015.
A leading expert in sport development, Steve had huge success in building the Youth Sport Trust (YST) into a vital part of the sport infrastructure over his six years as Chief Executive. In 2007 he was awarded an MBE for his contribution to school sports.
Rugby Business Network in the Thames Valley is gathering momentum and the reports back are that those attending are making useful connections for new business, job opportunities and alternative suppliers. It is an informal environment in which to make contacts and exchange ideas, with an interest in rugby as the common factor. It can work for you whether you are a one-person business or a corporate executive with a multinational; all are welcome and there’s no hierarchy.
If you’ve been along to the first and/or second event, it would be great to see you at the July meeting – and why not bring along a few colleagues? If you haven’t attended before, do give it a try – you won’t be disappointed. It is FREE to attend but please book in advance, through the following link on the Eventbrite website: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/7063036733
