Bristol to screen award-winning new film exposing global tax dodging truths
Global tax dodging becomes personal this autumn in a new award-winning documentary which follows one vicar as he explores the trail of tax dodging from near to his parish boundaries to destinations across the world.
‘UK Gold’, screening at Bristol’s The Cube on Sunday 10 November (8pm) for free, is a compelling look at the complicity of the UK’s tax havens in fuelling the financial secrecy that allows global tax dodging to rob poor countries.
Action Aid Oxfam and Christian Aid, who are teaming up to host the screenings of this hard-hitting documentary, estimate that $160 billion a year is lost by developing countries to corporate tax dodging, more than twice the total amount they receive in aid
