Theatre Translation Forum Seminar Series - Greek Adaptations
Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (GMT)
London, United Kingdom
The Theatre Translation Forum is a new initiative designed to create a meeting space for UCL academics and theatre practitioners to share common themes in their research, presenting and discussing issues relating to the theatrical presentation of translated performance.
This seminar focuses on adaptations of ancient Greek plays, with a particular focus upon Attic tragedy. It consists of three academic papers, from Rosa Andújar, Jane Gilbert, and Adam Lecznar, as well as a talk from playwright Caroline Bird, who wrote the version of Euripides' Trojan Women seen at the Gate Theatre in 2012.
