This first webinar will be led by Professor Jeremy Lauer from the University of Strathclyde, and formerly of the WHO, and will feature inputs from Prof Kat Smith and Prof Kalipso Chalkidou who will discuss ‘What can we learn from previous Pandemics and from the response to COVID-19 so far?’

The series will be hosted by the University of Strathclyde, with different partners from across the world leading each webinar.

For undergraduate and pre-experience post-graduate students participating in the Webinars and in follow-up tutorials with peers in our international partner universities, there is a Certificate of Completion of the Global Leadership Programme which will add much value to your CV.

For our more senior post-experience groups, you will have access to a peer group of more senior leaders and a facilitated action learning follow-up to help you to gain insight from a group of global leaders.

For our wider group of stakeholders and interested external partners, we will make the session available in recorded format, so that you can access global thought leadership and knowledge to help you to formulate your own post-crisis strategies.

19th May - Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Webinar 2 will be led by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and will discuss All-Round Efforts to Fight COVID-19 Pandemic. The session will be introduced by Prof Tim Cheng, Dean of Engineering and will feature inputs by Professors Gary Chan, Ming LIU, Matthew McKAY, Richard So and King Lun Yeung

26th May - University of Waterloo

Webinar 3 will be led by Professor Bessma Momani of the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, who will lead a discussion on The Global Economic and Political Challenges of COVID and the Lockdown.

9th June - Middle East University

16th June - Asian Institute of Technology

23rd June – University of Strathclyde

30th June - University of Pavia

The topics and presenters of Webinars 4 onward will be confirmed in the coming days.

Students will required 75% attendance of the webinars from the 19th May to the 30th June to be awarded a ‘Certificate of Attendance’ for the series.
