Tomorrow’s People will honor the people we help in successfully securing employment and those that help us achieve and deliver these extraordinary results with various awards of achievement. The awards recognize those with incredible journeys and all that they have achieved in the face of adversity as well as valued partners for their long term and extraordinary commitment in supporting young people; their commitment to increasing access to employment for all; and their dedication to building stronger and more resilient future generations. Tomorrow’s People are also delighted to be honoring front line staff for their extraordinary commitment in supporting young people and adults.
Tomorrow’s People is about making life work. Our frontline teams achieve extraordinary things with the young people and adults with whom they work and we are ambitious to do more for people who find it most difficult to get and keep a job. We go far beyond providing immediate assistance – with face-to-face, personalised, support for people furthest from labour market, independently evaluated outcomes, performance and impact, focus on meeting needs of employers to create jobs in local communities and the much needed aftercare for participants and employers to ensure success sustains.
Since our founding in 1984 by Grand Met (Diageo), Tomorrow’s People have supported over 475,000 plus people on their journey into work in more than 18 locations across the UK – helping local communities become more resilient. Our recent analysis finds that for each £1 invested in Tomorrows People’s youth employment programmes between 2007 & 2014 has on average delivered economic benefits worth more than £4.33. Our success rate speaks for itself with 75%+ of young people (aged 16 to 24 years) who complete our programmes get a job or training position or return to education. This presents a strongly positive picture of the contribution Tomorrow’s People programmes make to the lives of the young people that participate, as well as British society more broadly.
