Track 1: Next Generation Data. Exploiting cloud data & advanced analytic technology

As part of the Microsoft Cloud O/S initiative there will be a week of community driven events focusing on different aspects of the Cloud O/S story including “Unlock insights on any data”
New advances in cloud, data platform, data mining and visualisation technologies are enabling the next generation of analytics solutions to be built. These solutions are combining structured and unstructured data from a huge range of different sources, taking advantage of the scale, openness and economics of public cloud technologies and enabling analysts, data scientists, database administrators and developers to deliver compelling insight and predictive analytics.
On 9th September at the Microsoft offices in Cardinal Place, leading members of the Microsoft MVP community are delivering a series of lectures, q & a and networking sessions on different approaches to the delivery of enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions.
The day will start 9am with breakfast/networking and at 10am the formal proceedings will begin with a keynote on the impact of the cloud, mobile and advances in end-user tools on the use of data in organisations including a customer case study. Following the keynote, the day will be split into two tracks running from 11:15am to 5pm.

Track 1 will focus on building the modern enterprise data platform. In a series of three presentations we will tackle the issues of architecture, application frameworks, data integration and data exchange; learning all about the challenges faced by the modern data tier developer. Most importantly we will learn how to creatively overcome them by enhancing our processing efficiency and analytical capability!

Track 2 will focus on the creation of Business Intelligence and advanced analytics solutions that utilise both structured and un-structured data, demonstrate the use of data mining and predictive analytics technologies and also demonstrate how advanced visualisation technologies can be used by business users to deliver the insight and action required to drive real value from data.
The target audience for this event is data professionals.
While this is a UK hosted event, the event is open for registration for anyone, so if you’re are based in Europe for example and have an interest in this topic and would be happy to come over to London then we would love you to join us. Obviously we cannot cover your travel or accommodation expenses :-)
The level for this one day session will be 200 to 300.
To help manage expectations as to the technical level of this event, please find a brief breakdown below of each level.
Level 100 Description:
- Introductory and overview material. Assumes little or no expertise with topic and covers topic concepts, functions, features, and benefits.
Level 200 Description:
- Intermediate material. Assumes 100-level knowledge and provides specific details about the topic.
Level 300 Description:
- Advanced material. Assumes 200-level knowledge, in-depth understanding of features in a real-world environment, and strong coding skills. Provides a detailed technical overview of a subset of product/technology features, covering architecture, performance, migration, deployment, and development.
Level 400 Description:
- Expert material. Assumes a deep level of technical knowledge and experience and a detailed, thorough understanding of topic. Provides expert-to-expert interaction and coverage of specialized topics.
