Description

This full day, interactive workshop is designed to build a deep understanding of UKCS legislation and the industry code of practice, to assist delegates with commercial negotiations on access to infrastructure. The focus is on the practical aspects of using the code, and delegates are encouraged to share experiences and network with their counterparties. The course also covers infrastructure rejuvenation initiatives and changes in regulatory practices arising from the Wood Review and the new Oil and Gas Authority.
Who should attend?
The workshop is designed for commercial, legal, technical and operational staff and consultants either already working in this field or expecting to do so in the future.
What to expect
The course is run by consultants involved in the setting up and experienced in using the code of practice and DECC staff, with assistance from the industry’s COP Champions’ Network.
The course will cover

    • Introduction to access to infrastructure, with background, intent , development and compliance monitoring of the ICOP, with legislative and legal context
    • Practical advice on using ICOP, associated Guidance Notes and involvement of the regulator.
    • Three role playing group exercises; exploring issues and approaches to starting negotiations, assessing the opportunity and closing out negotiations.
    • Update on relevant industry /PILOT initiatives and the implementation of the Wood Review
