10.00 – 11.00 Behind the Scenes at the Movies: making value added/bonus material while making a profit

Laurel Parker (MD, Mobley Street Productions), who has extensive experience making DVD extras for the Hollywood studios, explores how to create bonus material for your drama. She will look at the legal and technical issues to be aware of and what works across various platforms, as well as what distributors look for to help them sell your product in an over saturated market and the type of online video content that will best sell your show.  Laurel Parker is the MD of Mobley Street Productions.

This session has reserved places available for attendees who live or work in Convergence areas of Wales. If you qualify for one of these places please do not book via Eventbrite, but e-mail janed@creativeskillset.org to book your place. If you live outside of the convergence areas, please continue to book on the Eventbrite page.

12.00 – 13.00 High Achiever or Wide Achiever? How to pitch yourself and your projects in the US and UK TV Landscape

The UK still has a softer, more ambiguous business culture than the US but the UK TV/online marketplace is following the US market and converging with it. More and more producers are pitching directly and first to US and European/World Channels, instead of starting with a UK broadcaster and then looking for co-production funding.  It is also increasingly common to reverse engineer your programme for an audience you have already built up via social networking or crowd-funding. Learn how to think wide as well as high to find new commissioners and funding for your programmes and to pitch yourself at a truly international audience.

This session has reserved places available for attendees who live or work in Convergence areas of Wales. If you qualify for one of these places please do not book via Eventbrite, but e-mail janed@creativeskillset.org to book your place. If you live outside of the convergence areas, please continue to book on the Eventbrite page.
