Description

Join Classic FM’s Tim Lihoreau for a fascinating masterclass on the colourful life of one of the 20th century’s musical giants, Igor Stravinsky

Innovative and controversial, Igor Stravinsky revolutionised 20th-century music. “Lesser artists borrow, great artists steal” is one of the most famous quotes from the composer whose ballet score The Rite of Spring sparked a riot at its Parisian premiere in 1913.

In this insightful masterclass, Classic FM’s breakfast presenter Tim Lihoreau will explore the maestro’s upbringing and early life, the influences and motivations that shaped his career.

You will learn about the highs and lows of Stravinsky’s life from his rise to notoriety between the wars to his death in 1971. Lihoreau will also discuss the composer’s legacy and relevance in 2016, and take questions from participants.
