VCSE Workshops - Victims' Services (Thames Valley PCC Area)
Thursday, 8 May 2014 from 09:30 to 16:00 (BST)
Oxford, United Kingdom
VCSE Skills and Information Workshops – Victims’ Services
Pulse Regeneration is delivering Skills and Information workshops to providers in the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector who deliver victims’ services.
From the 1st October 2014, Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) will be responsible for commissioning the majority of victims’ services locally through a budget from the Ministry of Justice. This means service providers may be bidding to their local PCC to obtain funding to deliver services, as well bidding to other public sector bodies.
The Ministry of Justice intends to support the VCSE sector through this new commissioning landscape to increase their capability and capacity to deliver services including those commissioned by PCCs.
Workshops will help VCSE organisations prepare for commissioning, and are designed to better enable frontline service providers to bid for grants and/ or contracts when tendering processes are launched.
Key learning outcomes include developing an understanding of the changing commissioning landscape, procurement processes and commercial principles, how to build relationships with local funding providers, the bid management process, how to manage transition from winning a bid to delivery, and performance and outcomes.
What You Will Receive:
- An intensive one day workshop
- A mixture of technical training, together with group exercises
- Peer-to-peer learning, including time for reflection and consideration
- Examples of good and bad practice
- ‘Bite sized’ modules, concluding with a full Q&A
- Opportunity to learn from a guest speaker
- A variety of resources and materials
The workshops are FREE and will be delivered in each of the 43 PCC areas across England and Wales. The workshops are aimed primarily at those VCSE sector organisations that deliver or are intending to deliver victims’ services, and are planning to bid to the public sector, including PCC in order to obtain contracts to deliver local services.
