Description

EventScotland, in associated with Volunteer Scotland, is pleased to host this seminar on 8 October at Hampden Park, the venue for the XX Commonwealth Games Track and Field Athletics competitions and the Closing Ceremony, to mark the Volunteer Data Transfer initiative.

During the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2014 was responsible for recruiting and training Games volunteers including the Games-time volunteers known as Clyde-siders.

Over 90% of volunteers, around 43,000 people, opted-in to have their data transferred to Volunteer Scotland as part of the Volunteer Data Transfer initiative. Volunteer Scotland is now the holder of this invaluable database of volunteers skilled in major events and contactable for future event volunteering opportunities.

This seminar will explore the opportunities available to the Scottish events industry as a result of the Data Transfer and discuss some of the motivations and interests of volunteers through those with experience of organising a volunteer programme.
