Walk The Line - An Evening to explore and make radical art works
Manchester Art Gallery, the Atrium and Galleries
Thursday 25 April, 6.00 - 8.30pm
Do you go with the flow or stride out in your own direction?
Are you constantly thinking about what to do next or do you live in the moment?
This evening of FREE drop-in events is a chance to find out about radical art works, think about how our clothes can be a protective wrapping for our inner selves and take care of ourselves by making some soulful art of our own.
In the inspiring surroundings of our Radical Figures exhibition, come and listen to a talk on a knitting art work that brought together a group of artists to collaborate and take knitting in a radical new direction at the Gallery of Costume.
Bring your own yarn and knit as you listen or use some of our needles and wool or even try some experimental knitting with unusual materials like string or bin bags.
Try some print making in the Atrium and make your own linear print to take home.
Connie Witham will be leading a short Art Bites open discussion, looking at dress and fashion and the way we express ourselves by the way we dress, focusing on two works in the galleries.
The talk runs 6-7pm, but drop in anytime to knit, print, mooch around, people watch or have a green tea.
