Event Details

Scott CapurroScott Capurro

Scott Capurro was reared in Daly City, California; at age 3, he swam the English Channel. Since 1993, he's avoided AIDS by telling unsavory jokes in every English speaking country. Scott is trusting and thus surrounded by duplicity, yet he continues challenging himself, because he's physically challenged and emotionally unstable.

Described by San Francisco Weekly (free press, edited by lesbians and designed by trannys with large hands and hidden agendas) as "stand-up in the very best possible sense - deadpan, ever-alert and hilarious"

Scott has appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire, where, effortlessly, he played a homosexual; and Star Wars: Phantom Menace, where, breathlessly, he wore a body stocking.

Scott knows David Cameron (wink, wink) and Nelson Mandela. Well, he's met Nelson once. They're both vegetarians. Actually, Scott is. Nelson said he was, to impress Scott. Cameron eats anything.

'The most fearless and technically perfect stand up on the circuit' ***** - Guardian

'Vaingloriously poisonous' ***** - Scotsman

'Sheer audacity' ***** - Chortle.co.uk

'He's evil and should be forced to leave the country' * - Daily Mirror

‘Comic equation: Larry Grayson x (Lenny Bruce + Chris Rock)’ - Guardian

Aisling Bea
Aisling Bea
... Aisling lives in London but is originally from Ireland. It's just to the left of London, if you are looking at it from a flying bird's POV. She has an actual DEGREE from and trained in classical acting at LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts). She has another extremely useful degree in French and Philosophy from Trinity College, Dublin. While a student at Trinity, she was in a sketch group called HBAM, who had two successful runs in Edinburgh and also toured a two hander character show to Edinburgh and around Ireland with Brona C. Titley. Aisling's name is pronounced ASH-LING BEE. Her late grandfather Micheál O’Suilleabháin was a Gaelic novelist and poet, her grandaunt Siobháin Ní Shúilleabhaiin is a prolific Gaelic writer and dramatist and her mother is a retired professional flatrace jockey. Fact.
In 2012, in what was a surprise to scientists everywhere, Aisling became the first woman to win the prestigious So You Think You're Funny? competition in 20 years.

As seen on: The Town (ITV), Russell Howard's Good News (BBC3), Cardinal Burns, (Channel 4), Dead Boss (BBC3), The Savage Eye (RTE), Don't Sit In The Front Row (Sky), FIT (CBBC)

"One To Watch" - The Independent

"She's got energy and physicality that makes her lively, scattergun routine fire on all cylinders"
- Steve Bennett, Chortle

"Already making waves on TV as an actor... Bea's certainly got an eye for a good gag that could lead to a very promising stand-up career." - The Guardian

Wouter MeijWouter Meij
Wouter Meijs performs at comedy clubs all over the UK and Europe, honing his unique observational style to all kinds of different audiences. He's quite tall, likes cycling to gigs and his name is pronounced Wow-ter Mice.

"Goofy and excellent" - Bath Chronicle
"Wonderfully twisted" - Spoonfed London

Ben CrellinBen Crellin

Benjamin Crellin is a lone wolf, ronin comic-of-fortune. A masterless mercenary of mirth who travels the globe armed with his extremly sharp sociopolitical style of intelligent thought provoking stand-up. He is one of the most subversive acts on the live circut.

The underlying themes of his material are centered around truth, freedom and the evolution of humanity. His comedic angles often focus on social conditioning, propoganda and the manipulation of the masses.

He is also our resident 'Voice of Reason'

“A shotgun blast through a world full of ignorance...see him or I will hurt you" ***** - Three Weeks

"His rants have them rolling in the aisles. Benjamin Crellin-comedian of our latter days-is damned funny." - Edmonton Journal

"Crellin is like a cross between Lenny Bruce and Dennis Leary with an angry smart guy vibe that is all his own."
- The Times, Victoria

Tomas AhlbeckTomas Ahlbeck
Tomas comedy is absurd, surreal and dark, and has recieved appreciation from not only audiences but also fellow comedians. Being one of the hardest working new Scandinavian acts has built his reputation as one that delivers.

"His laissez faire attitude is endearing, like a Nordic Arthur Smith" - Chortle

"The Dirty Uncle you always wanted." – Jason Rouse

And your host for the evening is Sean Brightman
Sean was a semi-finalist in 2010's So You Think You're Funny Competition. In 2011 he was shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Awards. Then in 2012 he reached the final of the Piccadilly Comedy Club competition where Chortle reviewed him as "Happy", one of the more positive words used in that particular review. He regularly performs and hosts comedy shows all over. He doesn't like competitions, aside from spot the ball.

"A very funny man"
- Stephen. K. Amos

- Chortle
