EXPANDING YOUR HORIZONS
We need YOU to demonstrate your expertise!
An interactive event focused on business development
This evening's session is all about business people sharing their business awareness.
During the evening you will have the opportunity to:
- Visualise the potential of your business
- Gain new ideas for your business
- Discover new ways to develop your business
- Address a specific business topic, which could be:
A new market you want to penetrate.
A new product or service you would like to introduce.
A particular business issue or challenge you are currently facing.
A particular client you would like to gain access to.
Or just ideas on how to grow your business.
We will help each other achieve this by:
- Thinking ‘outside the box’.
- Taking part in group brainstorming exercises.
- Sharing successes – and possible limitations.
- Focusing on an ‘ideal outcome’.
It’s an opportunity to gain support from like-minded people, share aspects of your own business development and to create ideas and solutions for your own and other’s businesses.
During the evening you’ll be working in focus groups of 5/6 companies chaired by an experienced business person.
Your group will spend approximately 20 minutes ‘working’ on your business.
2/3 mins on synopsis/ideal outcome
- 15 mins brainstorming/finding solutions/creating ideas
- 2/3 mins summarising/action planning
For you to get the most out of your session you will need to introduce your business to the group in a concise manner. To help you with this, we’ve devised a few questions, below, for you to complete.
Please freely add your own – but bear in mind timing, your audience and your desired outcome – What do they need to know to enable them to help you with your business?
Please remember - There are no ‘Magic Wands’- but being open and creative will help motivate and be inspired - BUT MOST OF ALL ENJOY THE EVENT!!

Date: Wednesday, 4th April 2012
Venue: Harpenden House Hotel, 18 Southdown Road, AL5 1PE
Arrival: 6pm for 6.30pm start until 9.00pm
The presentation will be complimented with structured and open networking.
We are expecting many local businesses to attend, so it will be a good opportunity to meet like-minded go-ahead business people.
THere is no cost FOR THE EVENT for members and first time guests ANd food and drink will be provided
Please confirm your attendance at either event so we can, in turn, confirm numbers to the venue for buffet arrangements.
