Description

Working on a case study brief for a module is one thing, but working on actual problems for businesses in the real world is another thing entirely. It's hard for students to gain the real life experience they need to develop the skills that employers are looking for.

Aston Enterprise presents a fun and interactive one day workshop for Aston students looking to develop their enterprise skills and gain experience of what it's like to work on real business problems.

This session is particularly aimed at Second Year students in any school who haven't found a placement yet, and are looking to develop the important skills that employers are looking for - but it's very suitable for any student!

You'll form into teams to respond to a real life client marketing brief. We'll be looking at the real marketing problems of a selection of BSEEN businesses - Aston student & alumni working on their ventures here on campus.

Teams will choose which business challenge to work on then be coached, trained and mentored to produce an effective marketing campaign proposal.

The session will finish by selecting and awarding the winning team for each business brief.

Why should I attend?

You should come along to this day if you're a student looking to:

  • Develop a more commercial mindset (enterprise skills)

  • Be more attractive to potential employers

  • Gain confidence

  • Develop your pitching and presenting skills

  • Practice working well in a team

  • Learn more about marketing practices

  • Improve your communication, interview and conversation skills

The Trainer

Our trainer for the day will be Aston University alumnus Mike Bandar. Mike is a Founding Partner of Turn Partners, a start up studio focused on the acquisition, turnaround and creation of digital businesses. Mike is a graduate from Aston Business School and has owned and operated businesses since the age of 15. His background is mainly within sales, marketing and startup enterprise. In 2017 Mike was featured on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list to receive a British Empire Medal for ‘Services to Young Entrepreneurs in the West Midlands’.
