You will have read in the Gazette and elsewhere that more and more solicitors are developing followings online. This session, run by former corporate commercial solicitor James Barisic, will guide you through the basics of social media, looking at Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn - and show you how to get the most out of it.

You will learn:

• How to find followers
• How to grow your audience
• How to engage
• How and when to take it offline
• How to find new clients

This seminar is designed for a small number of participants to ensure that you get the opportunity to ask questions, try things and take a look at the tech in action.  You are strongly advised to bring your laptop, netbook, iPhone or other gadgets to make sure that you can get the most out of the session.

Social:haus Limited is a CPD training provider authorised by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. Attendance at the course will count towards your CPD requirements.

The course runs from 9.30am to 1pm with a half hour break and will comprise three hours CPD training.

James Barisic is an engagement and communications specialist and runs Social:haus - a specialist digital agency - and is recognised by Klout.com as one of the Top Influencers on Twiter in the UK.  Social:haus provides digital engagement services to businesses including professional services firms.

He is a former political campaigner and knows how to engage with key influencers, online and offline, to ensure maximum impact and successful outcomes.  He has been a corporate and intellectual property specialist lawyer for a number of years. He has for the past 3 years ranked as the highest placed UK Twitter content creator in various categories in the Shorty Awards (2009 Personal, 2010 Law, 2011 Politics).

James has delivered talks and seminars to a number of audiences including businesses, charities, the LikeMinds Conference and the British Computer Society/Chartered Institute for IT and will be speaking at Umbrella 2011, the annual conference of the Chartered Institute of Librarians and Information Professionals, on engagement issues.
