How do you get to be a successful board member?
How do you ensure your board is effective?
Thinking about being a board member can start early in a career because the skills and experience required in a board director can take a while to develop. It is also important to realise that being an effective board member is not the same as being a successful senior leader. This seminar will explore the characteristics of successful board and board members and how careers can be built to prepare you for life on the board.
This event is a must attend for both those who aspire to rise to board positions and those with current responsibility for board and organisational governance. It will also interest those who simply want to understand what drives big organisations in the public and private sectors.

The event will be led by Louise Redmond who had already had a successful career in industry and in management consulting at KPMG when she started her DL MBA at Warwick. Louise completed her MBA whilst at SmithKline Beecham and went on to play a major role in the merger to create GlaxoSmithKline plc.
Louise moved to be the Human Resources Director of the Bank of England to support the then new Governor in reforming the Bank. Most recently Louise has joined The Law Debenture Corporation plc a company formed in 1889 to run the newly formed Governance Services business; she now reviews board effectiveness for listed companies and advises on board and director development.
