Bristol Energy Network

Community Energy projects go from strength to strength in Bristol.

The Bristol Energy Network brings together community energy groups from across Bristol and the surrounding area to share best practice and information on what they are doing to improve the energy efficiency of the housing stock in their communities, as well as encouraging the uptake of renewable energy production.

At their next meeting, the Bristol Energy Network will be hosting an evening of celebration. On Thursday 23rd February, Bristol based community energy groups will have the opportunity to present their winning projects as funded through the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s Leaf* Fund.

For those of us working in the field of energy and sustainability, we have known for sometime that Bristol has been leading the way to reduce energy consumption, CO2 and move to a more sustainable living model. However, for those doubters out there, here’s the proof - 9 community groups from the Bristol area have been awarded funding to carry out projects.

If you’d like to find out more about these projects and what is happening in your city, or your neighbourhood, come to Hamilton House from 7pm on the 23rd February. The evening will cover the following features:

Hear news and progress from the project winners

Bristol City Council discuss how they are supporting community energy initiatives with "Bristol Futures & Communties"

Cllr Gus Hoyt introduces a new scheme to multi-purchase Green Energy from suppliers to help tackle fuel poverty and tackle climate change through clean energy

Draught-busting - a short talk about workshops in your local area

Bristol Energy Network holds open meetings on an approximately quarterly basis. For more information on the meetings, or to be added to their mailing list, visit http://www.bristolenergynetwork.org/

 Refeshemnets provided.
