I AM is an inspiring and entertaining non-fiction film that asks two provocative questions: what’s wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better?
Tom Shadyac, director of a series of Hollywood comedy blockbusters, steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a serious cycling accident left him incapacitated. After eventually recovering he emerged with a new sense of purpose, determined to investigate how we can improve the world we live in.
Armed with his curiosity and a small film crew, Shadyac meets with a variety of remarkable men and women from the worlds of science, philosophy, academia, and faith – including David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Lynne McTaggart and many more. The result is a fresh, energetic, and life-affirming film that challenges our preconceptions about human behaviour.
In the process of trying to figure out what’s wrong with the world, Shadyac discovers there’s more right than he ever imagined. He learns that we're far more interconnected than we're led to believe and that humans function better and remain healthier when expressing positive emotions like love, care, compassion, and gratitude.

Location and Timings
Join us for the first ever UK cinema screening of I AM on 7th December 2011.
The film will be screened at the Coronet cinema at Notting Hill in London. Doors will open at 6pm and the film will start at 6:30pm (running time: 80 mins).
Tickets
This event is raising funds to support the work of Action for Happiness. We want to make it accessible to as many people as possible, so rather than charging a fixed fee we're instead asking you to make a donation. It would be great if you could donate £15, but if you can spare more, or feel unable to give that much, then please give what you feel is appropriate.
All funds raised (beyond the costs of screening the film) will contribute directly to Action for Happiness' work relating to growing the movement, enabling local action groups and supporting activities relating to happiness and well-being in schools. Action for Happiness is part of the Young Foundation, which is a Registered Charity (274345) in England and Wales.
