Part of Culture Hack East, a national programme to explore the possibilities digital technology offers Arts & Culture
How people find, share, access and experience arts and culture activities has changed. With this knowledge, Creative Front Cambridgeshire is leading a programme of events to support arts organisations in the East to maximise assets, data and new technologies to excite and develop audiences online.
What is a Hack Day?
Pioneered by Yahoo! in the mid-2000s, Hack Days typically take place over a 24 to 48 hour period, creating an environment for intense creation and discovery. Culture Hack East will enable a skills exchange between the cultural, creative and technology sectors, and generate dynamic and exciting partnerships to explore digital capacity across a wide range of art forms.
Culture Hack East started in November 2011 with a warm-up event for arts and cultural organisations from across the region. Following the success of this event, Culture Hack East is staging two key events;
What is Data, Anyway! – 1st May 2012
A hands-on workshop for everyone interested in participating in the Hack which aims to give people an understanding of what their data is, what they can do with it and how they need to prepare it ready for Culture Hack East.
Who should attend
This workshop is aimed at anyone whose role has a digital component and is an ideal learning and networking opportunity for:
- Catalogue managers
- Archivists
- Database managers
- Senior managers with a digital remit
- Web managers, designers and developers
- Digital marketers and content makers
Please note: If you are an arts organisation with an API or other open data that you would like to present on the day, please let us know.
Places are limited so please book now. For more info please call Ozlem Cansiz on 0845 196 2997 or email events@creativefront.org
