Event Details

Delivered by Anne Willis and Peter Hoare, this demonstration lecture is designed to show, through some spectacular demonstrations and audience participation, that Chemistry is involved in the use of all our senses - Sight (light), Sound, Taste, Smell and Touch (hot & cold) – so come along and see a “chemical sunset” and exploding balloons set to music, chemical reactions which only produce light (but no heat), screaming Jelly Babies, a taste test with crisps, smell tests with various well-known odours and some very cold (dry ice) and extremely cold (liquid nitrogen) substances and how they behave!
