Simon Monk - Newbies and Agile Software Development: what graduates can expect from a first job in software

Dr. Simon Monk has a degree in Cybernetics and Computer Science (Reading) and a PdD in Software Engineering (Lancaster).  Simon spent several years as an academic beofre returning to industry, as a developer, software architect and then co-founder of the mobile software company Momote Ltd.  Simon has spent 20 years in the software industry, working for every size of business from startup to FTSE100 in every role from junior developer to CTO.  With Phil Lewis we introduced eXtreme Programming to KMS Plc., setting up two teams of 12 developers.  He is a strong propenent of agile software development.

Dr. Monk is now in the fortunate position of turning a hobby into a job and is a full-time author specialising in Open Source hardware and electronic books (www.simonmonk.org)
