Music, Architecture And Acoustics In Renaissance Venice
Friday, 9 March 2012 from 18:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
During the Renaissance in Venice, composers such as Gabrieli and Monteverdi created some
of their greatest masterpieces for performance in the great churches on festive occasions.
Professor Malcolm Longair presents what music would have sounded like, given its complexity and the long reverberation times of large churches.
