The Mighty Creatives invites leaders of education and learning to take part in a free one-day conference designed to galvanize us all to lead innovative and creative provision, aimed at improving outcomes for young people and the workforce.

The conference is supported by Arts Council England. Attendees will include senior leaders from schools and children's centres, as well as local authorities and national organisations.

Friday 5th October 2012

8.45am - 4.30pm

East Midlands Conference Centre

Free Symposium

Keynote speakers for the day are The Mighty Creatives’ CEO Richard Clark and one of the most innovative and inspirational school leaders of our time, Richard Gerver.  They will explore the potential of a rich cultural education; what our regional cultural landscape looks like and what our children and young people say about it, how we can apply this knowledge in the workplace and equip ourselves with the right tools and support to ensure the potential is fulfilled.

Time to think

The day will provide a balance between a structured learning space with creative inputs that will support you with practical ideas for moving to action, alongside space and time to think, be inspired, share and network with your peers.  This also provides an opportunity for The Mighty Creatives to understand your needs in more detail and inform how we can support the sector moving forward.

Time to learn

Find out about how The Mighty Creatives, with key partners, will be working with schools as Arts Council England’s Bridge Organisation in the East Midlands to offer practical approaches to enriching the cultural life of children.  We will also explore broader development opportunities, which include learning services, social enterprise and school improvement and how we work with partners to support Arts Award, Arts Mark.

Putting people first

As always, we will emphasise the learner throughout the day, examining how we plan work with children and young people in order to find an approach that works for your context and capitalises on our strengths and passions.

The conference will:

       Offer practical ideas

Explore how to engage with current educational thinking creatively

Provide detail on what opportunities The Mighty Creatives has to offer

       Provide networking and collaboration opportunities

       Provide peer led reflection

       Empower participants
