How to be a football journalist
Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (BST)
You're a football fanatic or thinking about trying to make the leap from amateur blogger to football journalist. In this intensive one-day masterclass, Guardian football reporter David Hytner and Guardian football blogger Jacob Steinberg will take you through the different aspects of the craft. In four revealing and practical sessions you'll look at: news reporting, the mechanics of the industry and how journalists find football stories; match reporting and writing against deadlines; live blogging; the stark realities of trying to break into football journalism; and, of course, the art of football writing – the cliches, the dangers and what really annoys the readers.
Curated by: Ian Prior, Guardian Sports Editor.
