Event Details

Raptor is a free to use, open source software suite generally designed to enable accounting within event-based systems, and specifically aimed at accounting within systems that handle authentication events such as the Shibboleth IdP, OpenAthens LA, and EZproxy. See http://iam.cf.ac.uk/RAPTOR for further information.

The Raptor development team and JISC Collections will be holding two Raptor workshops over the coming months. This page is for the July event in London!  (For the June event in Cardiff, click here).

These workshops are aimed at technical and non-technical users alike, at both Library and IT members of staff (why not come along as a pair?), and at both existing Raptor users and those who haven't touched it yet but are interested in using it in the future.

The workshops will consist of:
  1.  An introduction to Raptor - what it is, where it came from, and what it can do for you institution;
  2. Demonstrations of how easy Raptor is to install on both Windows and Linux platforms;
  3. Demonstrations on how to use the simple features of Raptor's web interface to find out usage stats for your online resources;
  4. Discussion and demonstrations of the more advanced features of Raptor to get the most out of the usage information available to you;
  5. Q&A with the developers to ask any questions you might have about how to make use of Raptor, from the simple to the advanced.

The two workshops will be held on:
  • Tue June 26th in Cardiff
  • Tue July 24th in London.

Note that this is one workshop repeated - there is no need to go to both!

The workshops will run from 11AM until 3.30PM, and lunch will be provided.

Reasonable travel costs within the UK should be able to be reimbursed to those who might have difficulty finding budget of their own to pay for travel (please get in touch with us to confirm if you are planning on taking up this option so that we can budget accordingly).

Best wishes, and look forward to seeing you there,
The Raptor development team.
