Green Deal Supply Chain Roadshow

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Buildings (EEPB) are hosting a series of breakfast briefings for the supply chain to find out more about the opportunities offered to you by the Green Deal.

The Green Deal, to begin in autumn this year, is the Coalition Government's initiative to support the installation of energy efficiency measures in homes and businesses.

The Green Deal is an innovative new financing mechanism that uses the energy savings the measures create, to help cover the up-front cost of the works.  In addition, the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), a subsidy from energy suppliers, will provide extra help for people most in need and to drive the installation of certain other measures.

The intention of these policies is to empower consumers and give them new ways of funding home improvements, thus creating a new market which could draw in overall greater funding for energy efficiency than in the past.  In this way, it will help reduce carbon emissions from the domestic and non-domestic building stock, which is essential if the UK is to meet its statutory domestic carbon budgets.

More information about the Green Deal is available on DECC's Green Deal website.

The Green Deal will change the way energy efficiency improvements are funded in this country, provide a much needed boost for the sector, and provides a huge opportunity for the supply chain.

These breakfast briefings are being run so you can:

-     Understand what the Green Deal means for your business

-     Hear how other companies are seizing Green Deal opportunities

-     Discuss your ideas for the Green Deal with other local companies like yours
