This is the story of a tragic incident which happened in the 680AD, only 60 years after Prophet Mohammad  introduced Islam as a universal religion.  The event continues to have profound implications for the political, spiritual and moral framework of today’s society, and questions the surrender of the truth to falsehood.

The Festival of Spirituality and Peace

Our aim is to encourage community by exploring diversity.  We don't all have to agree but it doesn't need to be a problem.  FoSP provides a platform for people to explore their own spirituality by engaging with other people's, to promote peace.

FoSP is one of Edinburgh's most exciting and diverse Festivals. It features 300 activities in 200 events across 15 venues each year in August. With top-quality speakers, conversations, performances, film, food, exhibitions, family activities, workshops, art, culture and more the festival is now looking forward to its twelfth year.
