Can we narrow the digital divide in Brighton?
CityCamp is an event for people with ideas that help solve social problems, or change their city for the better.
This is a special one-day CityCamp event for the Brighton Digital Festival focusing on ideas for supporting digital inclusion.
Two speakers, who know about digital exclusion, will set out the challenge and the opportunity of bringing access to the Internet to everyone in the city. We'll hear from the council and other public services, people from charities and people who feel they are excluded from the web
Most importantly, you'll have a day of great conversations with people you don't normally talk to. At CityCamp 2012 more than 80% of people said they spent all or most of the weekend talking to people from other walks of life.
Unlike the other CityCamp events, we won't end with pitching ideas for prizes, but participants - including local public services - will pitch ideas for pledges of support from public services, voluntary organisations, and members of the public.
The Brighthelm Centre has ramped access, lifts and wheelchair accessible toilets. There are disabled parking spaces in the nearby NCP car park. Please let us know if you have any other access requirements for this event.
