The minute-by-minute match report is a format pioneered by The Guardian, and requires a different approach and set of skills from other types of match reporting. One of the most frantic methods of covering sporting events, it's also the most egalitarian – as the tools are open to everyone to use
This intensive evening Masterclass will cover:
• Tone in live commentary and writing online.
• Interacting with users.
• Dealing with user feedback and comments.
Jacob Steinberg is a football writer for The Guardian, specialising in minute-by-minute reports, live blogging, blogs and podcasts for the website. He also covers tennis. He runs a football website called The FCF (www.thefcf.co.uk) and is a contributor for The Blizzard, a quarterly football magazine edited by Jonathan Wilson. He has also written for ITV's football website and has appeared on ESPN's football podcast.
