We are delighted to invite you to join us for our Newcastle Open Day in association with Generator.

Tuesday 30th October, 5.30pm The Sage, Gateshead.

As part of their UK wide outreach programme, PPL is hosting an open session in partnership with Generator in Newcastle for artists, managers, labels, venues and anyone for whom music licensing is important.

Keith Harris, PPL Director of Performer Affairs hosts the session and will be in conversation with John Smith, General Secretary, Musicians Union and PPL Performer Board Member as well as Hal Ritson, FAC Board Member, musician, record producer and DJ.

Hal has performed or produced on over 200 dance or urban records over the past few years, with credits including artists such as Nas, Dizzee Rascal, Lil Wayne, Newton Falkner, Jessie J, David Guetta, the Black Eyed Peas, Lethal Bizzle, Estelle, Laidback Luke, Steve Angello, Taio Cruz, Tinchy Strider and many more. His main personal project is as leader of the London-based electronic mashup collective The Young Punx.

The session will be covering PPL’s role in the industry and with 8,500 record companies and 51,500 performer members, why PPL income is such an important revenue source for performers and session musicians.

The session is open to local artists and labels, especially those not yet members of PPL.

There will be plenty of opportunity to engage with PPL during a Q & A session and the networking drinks that will take place afterwards.

Registration starts at 5.30pm and the Open Day starts at 6pm promptly finishing at 7.30pm when there will be an hour’s food, drinks and networking.

Please note, places are limited and bookings will be taken on a first-come first-served basis.

If you are already a PPL Member, there is a separate member’s only session taking place before this one at 4pm.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE 1st SESSION, PLEASE GO TO THIS LINK TO REGISTER SEPARATELY.
