Call for Pitch Submissions

For the latest installment of Pitch Up! we want to hear your cross-platform story ideas.

You can submit your cross-platform idea here.  We will pick out the top 5 ideas and gather those winners at BAFTA to pitch to an expert panel to be chaired by Alison Norrington, Transmedia storyteller, Consultant and the Chair of the Storyworld Conference & Expo.  Also on the panel:

Nicoletta Iacobacci, a seasoned multimedia and transmedia producer, Director of Strategy, European Broadcasting Union. She began at the EBU in 2006 as Head of Multiplatform where she managed Eurovision TV and EBU’s transmedia activities and projects. Nicoletta is also chief curator of TedX Transmedia in Rome.

Nuno Bernado, award winning and Emmy nominated Transmedia writer and producer and the creator of the world’s first interactive teen series. He’s also the creator of Flatmates, Aisling’s Diary, Beat Generation and Final Punishment, Transmedia series produced and adapted around the world.  Nuno wrote the bestselling book “Producer’s Guide to Transmedia” and he is a frequent speaker at the most important industry events and festivals.

The panel feedback will include an invaluable round-up of the different production and financial opportunities available for your project.

How It Works

First of all we want to hear your ideas. Get your idea in by registering it online here, as follows:

- 100 word summary of the story.  Think of this as your main pitch.

- A concise run-through of the platforms/mediums you propose to use, with a sentence to contextualise each, i.e. why this platform? Which platform for which element of the story? In what order to you plan to roll the platforms out?

- A sentence or two to sum up the scale, i.e how long will your story run for, how many people do you expect it to reach.

- The Business.  Any thoughts you have on target markets, revenue streams, co-productions, partnerships, etc.

There is a small £5 charge for each submission.

You can submit more than one idea, but to keep things fair, you'll need to pay the fee for each idea.  The deadline for entries is 15th November.

We're as concerned as you are with protecting them- they will not be visible to the public, and if you like we can send you an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) by email return.

What Happens Next?

The panel will judge the winning pitch, and the winner will benefit from a follow-up meeting with an expert who can help signpost the next stages.  For any of the pitches in the spotlight there's always the chance to find collaborations amongst our industry audience or even further meetings with panellist commissioners - it's happened before at Pitch Up!

Even if you don’t get selected, you can still buy a ticket and benefit from the case studies, tailored feedback and expert opinions. Above all this event aims to turn the spotlight on the real and existing opportunities available to those wishing to create cross-platform stories.
