Econsultancy Hosts: Mobile Internet Can Save the High Street
Friday, November 16, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (GMT)
London, United Kingdom
Econsultancy is hosting a Google Hangout on the subject of whether mobile internet can aid the High Street (specifically footfall traffic) as a part of Internet Week Europe. The event takes place this Fri, 16 November, at Google Campus (4-5 Bonhill Street EC2A 4BX) and will be live streamed on our YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/econsultancy) with a real-time Q&A taking place via Twitter.
We want to encourage retailers/government/UK economy to try and see the advantages that mobile presents when it comes to bringing consumers in to shop -- rather than just seeing it as a threat to drive purchases elsewhere (Amazon..Etc.) Additionally, mcommerce provides many opportunities to small business and independent retail that they might not already be taking advantage of.
We plan to have no presentations, just talk. Our founder and CEO Ashley Friedlein will be hosting and Linus Gregoriadis our Research Director will bring out some key bits from our report. Then we'll have two start-ups talking about how they see the opportunity/future (from the Campus) and two retailers (including Finlay Clark, Industry Manager, Retail at Google) likewise giving their views on opportunities (and, perhaps, challenges/barriers). No more than 3-4mins chat/talk from each and then Q&A from virtual audience using Twitter and Google Hangout.
