Introduction to Papermaking

11am - 5pm, Saturday 9 March 2013

Students will learn the basics of the ancient art of papermaking: a brief history and explanation of papermaking methods, how to form a sheet with mould and deckle, using a deckle box to add decoration, and double couching/lamination, where multiple layers of pulp are used to make a single sheet.

When the paper has been dried, students will have sheets to take home and use for books, writing, card-making or other projects.

Tutor: Lucy Baxandall
