CGAP at Cass Business School and Trust for London warmly invite you to the launch of  Giving back to communities of residence and of origin, a new study of the links between remittance giving and charitable donating by Cathy Pharoah and Tom McKenzie. Revealing related participation in giving to charities in the UK as well as sending money to needs overseas, it highlights the nature and generosity of the UK’s migrant and minority groups.

The findings provide a new and more comprehensive picture of philanthropy across the UK’s multi-cultural population, an area which has been largely under-researched. With growing awareness of the need to give back to the community in the UK, this study reveals what can be learned from models of giving amongst the UK’s migrant and minority populations. We invite you to a debate on how these models can be better valued, shared and supported by government, charities and donors.
