Ulster University - School of Sport
Ulster has been one of the major providers of undergraduate courses in Sport in Northern Ireland since the 1970s.
We currently offer a range of edcuaitonal options. We offer two full-time degrees; a BASES endorsed BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences and a BSc Hons Sport: Theory and Practice (formerly BSc Hons Sport Studies) which consist of a common first year and allow students to specialise in later years to equip themselves for careers in Physical Education, Sport Science, Sports Development, Sport & Leisure Management or postgraduate study (PGCE, MSc PhD). We also offer a suite of courses at Post-Graduate Level.
The optional placement year leading to the award of a Diploma in Industrial Studies or a Diploma in Area Studies is a unique aspect of our programmes and ensures that our graduates are well-equipped for employment. In addition since 2005, we offer a part-time Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching for active coaches wishing to further their knowledge and gain an academic qualification.
Through partnership with colleges of further and higher education (South Eastern Regional College, Northern Regional College and Southern Regional College) the Academy delivers franchised programmes at Associate Bachelor and Foundation Degree level facilitating the advanced entry of students into our undergraduate programmes.
