Alcohol & Drugs Action (ADA)
About us
Our mission
Our mission is to minimise the negative impact of drug and alcohol use on individuals, families and communities in the North East of Scotland by providing client-led, evidence-based and high-quality interventions.
Our core values
Putting people first
We ensure that the services we develop and provide are always led by the needs and aspirations of each individual.
Treating all with dignity, compassion, respect and empathy
We believe that – irrespective of background, gender, sexuality, race, class or behaviour – everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
Embracing positive change
We encourage and support positive change, both at an individual and service level.
Collaboration
We believe that working in partnership with individuals, their families, other service providers and stakeholders is essential if we are to achieve the best outcomes for communities as a whole.
Pursuing excellence and innovation
We set high standards for our team, where ongoing learning and critical thinking is encouraged to ensure our responses to the changing drug and alcohol scenes are relevant. We aim to work within best-practice guidelines to ensure that our services are efficient and effective for those who use them.
Accountability
We uphold high standards of ethical practice that are monitored and maintained through our in-house supervision and appraisal scheme, in addition to our clear governance and management structures.
Financial probity
We recognise that, as a charity, we have a responsibility to ensure all funds and resources received by us are spent wisely, ensuring best value for money.
