Alexandra Merisoiu
Move Wild Academy challenges the current fitness paradigm of reps and sets, speed and sweat through focused and mindful primal movement.
Move Wild strives to educate their clients and coaches on the fundamentals of human movement and body mechanics. It brings precision and sharpness into your training routine, making your efforts more effective and enabling you to reach your goals with less risk of injury and more strength, power and confidence in your abilities.
Move Wild Academy is the evolution of The Merisoiu Technique Institute and Urban Women Fitness, an idea and a journey which started in January 2014.
Alexandra Merisoiu, known as The Body Engineer, is the Founder of Move Wild Academy and Dracula’s Retreat. She started her PT career in 2013 and is now a Level 4 Personal Trainer, qualified in Low Back Pain Management and Prevention.
As a long distance runners herself, she now specialises in working with runners, beginners and advanced, who want to run faster, further, with less effort and fewer injuries. When working with runners the focus is to reduce running impact, joint damage and muscle tension while maximising performance through running technique and form.
Since 1995 she has explored how the body and mind works, starting with Martial Arts and moving on to others sports throughout her career. Throughout her Martial Arts career she has achieved 3rd Dan Black Belt in Karate Shotokan, runs her own Karate club in Oxted and is IJKA 2017 triple World Champion, 2016 WMO Martial Arts National and European Champion. She still competes at international level.
It is through these learnings, and drawing inspiration from respected names such as MovNat, IdoPortal and POSE Method of Running to name a few, that she helps runners reduce the risk of injuries and achieve personal bests.
Alexandra has been awarded the Tandridge Sports Personality of the Year 2017 award and WeAreTheCity Rising Star Award 2016.
