St Edmund’s Nursery School and Children’s Centre was designated by the NCTL as a Teaching School in April 2013. It is one of four Teaching Schools in Bradford.
St Edmund’s became a School Centre for Initial Teacher Training in 2014. In September 2015, over 100 primary and early years trainees will be training through a new approach to becoming a teacher. In partnership with some of Bradford best school and most outstanding teachers, we’ll be working with Bradford’s future teachers in an entirely school-based and school designed training programme.
Teaching Schools are outstanding schools, leading alliances of schools and academies in collaborative work around the ‘big six.’
1. Initial Teacher Training (School Direct)
2. The designation and deployment of Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)
3. School to School Support
4. CPD, including NQT induction and the Improving and Outstanding Teacher Programmes
5. The identification and nurturing of leadership potential
6. Research and development
