Inspired Youth is all about engaging local businesses with the next generation of young people coming through schools, colleges and universities in our region, but also supporting work with those that are not in employment or training after 16.

Against a backdrop of rising youth unemployment, our aim is to build relationships between local employers and local young people so as to:

• create relationships that could lead to employment opportunities
• raise aspirations among young people
• offer an insight into the world of work, whether through placements or creative problem-solving and mentorship
• connect local employers to the next generation

Created as a sustainable model of engagement, the Inspired Youth projects are funded by the organisations that benefit from them. Events and awards are sponsored by companies that in turn are offered opportunities for:

• staff development
• networking
• raising their profile
• building relationships with schools
• recruitment or internship placements
