The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covers 233 square miles (603 km2) of Northern England in the county of North Yorkshire. It stretches from Otley and Ilkley in the south to Masham and Jervaulx in the north. Harrogate and Ripon can be found to the east and it shares a common boundary with the Yorkshire Dales National Park immediately to the west.
Nidderdale AONB is one 46 AONBs in the UK and is part of a family of protected areas that include National Parks. It was designated as an AONB on the 14 February 1994.
Each year we orgnaise a programme events to allow people to discover more about the AONB’s beautiful countryside and the special qualities of the area.
