Rob Jones & Jessamy Harvey

Rob Jones worked for many years in luxury retailers Harvey Nichols and Anthropologie before following his passion for Japanese textiles and becoming a full-time designer/maker in 2015. His love for Shibori began in 2011 at West Dean College, Chichester and later, in 2014, Rob visited Japan to learn traditional methods from indigo guru Bryan Whitehead at his workshop in Fujino, near Tokyo. Rob uses both ancient and modern Shibori stitched, bound and clamped resist techniques to create a range of lampshades and other textiles working with indigo and natural dyes in a range of colours.   www.romordesigns.com  Jessamy Harvey was a lecturer in Hispanic Studies when, during a career break, she embarked on a journey of learning and discovery: making jewellery and training in the Alexander Technique. She first studied at Flux Jewellery School in London, a collective of which she is now a member. A love of the challenges and rewards of enamelling led her to study with well-respected enamellers Jessica Turrel, Ruth Ball, Joan Mackarrel and Jane Short. In her jewellery, Jessamy translates into silver the tactile qualities of textiles and trimmings, enhanced with touches of gold or vitreous enamel.   www.jessamyharvey.com
